USCIS Provides Information on Bi-specialization Filing of I-129 and I-140 Petitions

USCIS has announced a new filing system for I-129 and I-140 Petitions.

The agency has stated that effective April 1, 2006, all I-129 petitions and related applications should be filed at the Vermont Service Center (VSC), and that all I-140 petitions and related applications should be filed at the Northern Service Center (NSC, which is in Nebraska).

The petitions will also be adjudicated by specialized service centers: The VSC will forward many I-129 petitions and related filings to the California Service Center for adjudication, while the NSC will send many I-140 petitions and related filings to the Texas Service Center.

For the time being, all service centers will forward any filings sent to the wrong location to the correct service center.
